Spiralarms

Gootch
Gootch started out back in 2005. Their line-up hasn't changed much since then and neither has their style: straightforward rock 'n roll, served in a hard, loud and tight manner. It's not surprising that bands such as AC/DC, Hermano, Motörhead, Danko Jones, Velvet Revolver, Queens of the Stone Age, Wolfmother, Kyuss, ... are listed as their greatest infuences.Lees verder...

The Lucifer Principle
By the end of 2004, the infernal machine of the Dutch based The Lucifer Principle took a brutal start. Within 8 months, the band released two well received demos (“Burn!” & “Flamethrower”) in which they showed their original approach of an old and heavy genre. The use of a stand up bass make The Lucifer Principle different to all other death metal bands. Instead of an electric one, the stand up bass underlines the groovy character of the songs. The music of TLP is best described as “Stomping Death Metal”, a mixture between old school heavy metal, rock ‘n roll and groove, all connected by a firm and edgy death metal base. The band found a great source of inspiration in Howard Bloom’s “The Lucifer Principle”. The book describes the origin of human nature, in which violence and “evil” are the basic ingredients. Human beings grow up with the thought that violence doesn’t solve anything. History however, has already proven numerous times that violence does solve a great deal of problems. The greatest civilisations (including their problems) all have fallen victim to violence and disappeared to make place for a new way of thinking. The Lucifer Principle stand for the avalanche effect, or action = reaction, something TLP practice while playing live. After the release of two successful demos and loads of shows, TLP released 2 albums on Apache Productions: 'Pitch Black Dawn’ in 2007 and ‘Welcome To Bloodshed’ in 2009.Lees verder...

Spoil Engine
Late 2004, four metalscene friends decided to get together and inject some new life into the Belgian metal scene. They only needed one rehearsal to feel the chemistry and so the search was on for a vocalist who could add that extra punch. They found the right man for the job when they met Niek Tournois, a small Dutchman with a big voice. The five-piece band immediately got cracking in their rehearsal space to get the engine rolling.Lees verder...

Cowboys & Aliens
C&A was formed back in 1996 by John Pollentier (guitar), whose actual purpose was to create alternative music. That path drastically changed when Kris Vandekerckhove joined on bas. Inspiration was taken from the ultra heavy riffs of Black Sabbath, and those were completed by ultra swinging rhythm guitars. Henk Vanhee added the final touch with his voice so powerful and strong that it can be compared to the voices of John Garcia (Kyuss, Hermano) and even Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin). Without doubt, Henk is to be considered amongst the best rock vocalists of the Low Lands.Lees verder...

Oceans Of Sadness
Oceans of Sadness from Belgium, started back in 1995 and at first drew inspiration from bands such as Type O Negative, Amorphis and Paradise Lost. Within five months of starting the band the first demo "Forgotten Symphony I" got released and this tape immediately became the "demo of the month" in Aardschok – the professional music journal of the Netherlands. At the time, the main ambition was to create slow atmospheric and ultra deep songs – much like those of the bands that inspired Oceans of Sadness. But the songs already had a face of their own and a recognizable sound that you still can identify in the more recent works. In 1999 the young act surprised everyone by winning the Metal Bash Award – a talent competition for Belgian and Dutch bands, organized by Aardschok – which very much helped the band to a larger audience with performances on Dynamo Open Air, "Aardschokdag" and on Biebob Metalfest amongst others. Two years and some demo’s later Oceans Of Sadness signed a two-album-deal with Belgian LSP records and soon after that the debut album "For We Are" was released. Graspop Metal Meeting noticed the intense live presentation of the band, and invited Oceans Of Sadness for the first time on their esteemed festival.Lees verder...

Resistance
Resistance, a Belgian extreme metal outfit set out for world domination in July 2004, when the band was founded by Ben (Bass). Initially the band started out as a metal influenced straight forward hardcore band but after several line-up changes and new members bringing new influences to the table, the band turned more and more into the full on death metal beast it is today, with only traces left of their hardcore background. After years of playing shows and building up their name in Belgium and France Resistance released their debut album "Trauma". With this crushing album, released in 2006, the band felt they had finally found the style that fitted them the best and what they believed was to be their musical destiny.Lees verder...

Sons Of Jonathas
Sons of Jonathas is a studio project conceived by Xavier Carion formerly of Channel Zero. The mission of Xavier with this album was to make relive the energy and honesty of what was metal in the past, getting back to the roots but at the same time bringing a fresh modern vibe. The album "The death dealer" released on Apache in june 2005 is a conceptual album using the story of Jonathas, a partly legend partly real figure from the 11 century who was seen as an antichrist. "The death dealer" has been highly acclaimed by critics, journalists and metal fans...Lees verder...
